The nominations are in for the 84th Academy Awards , who made it this year and who got snubbed!? Did any of your favorites make the cut for the Oscar, check out the list of nominees below to see. Watch for our planned list for the Top 10 most searched for actors, actresses and filmmakers, which will be announced in press release and posted here one week before the Academy Awards show, Sunday, February 26 on ABC, hosted by funny man Billy Crystal.

This year the 2012 Oscar nominations include an interesting mix of some expected, some surprises and of course some snubs. Who do you think will win this year? A few to take note of include Best Actor favorite George Clooney. While I am a big fan of Clooney, I am rooting for my favorite actor in all of Hollywood to take home the Best Actor Award, Gary Oldman. Other noteable nominees are Agnieszka Holland director of the film “In Darkness” which was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, and I am personally cheering for Agnieszka to win for her film. A bit of a surprise as Jessica Chastain finds herself nominated for Best Supporting Actress for “The Help“, while also co-starring in another big film “The Tree of Life“, nominated for Best Picture. Brad Pitt, another long-time favorite of mine, who like Jessica Chastain is part of two of the top films of the year. He is nominated for Best Actor for “Moneyball” as was also in “The Tree of Life” with Chastain and Sean Penn.

I am very happy with this years nominations as yet another of my personal favorites, Max von Sydow, has been nominated for Best Spporting Actor for “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close“. I hope Max wins as he has been great in everything I have ever seen him in, such as the original “Conan the Barbarian” with Arnold Schwarzenegger, “Minority Report” with Tom Cruise, “Flash Gordon” where he played Ming the Merciless, and one of the best horror movies of all-time, “The Exorcist“. On a very personal note (hey, I am the blogger here so I can write what I want!) I believe Neil Patrick Harris was snubbed and should have been nominated for his supporting role as the very cool and totally funny blind tutor to The Beast, in the film “Beastly“, a modern day retelling of the old fairytale Beauty and the Beast.
