Paris is well known for being probably the most romantic city on the planet. Yet the only thing I noticed was that it’s pricey when I was there last time a couple of years ago. Again, in a couple of weeks, when Lea and I will be at Le Web we looked for an affordable but chic modern Hotel with - obvoiusly - Wifi.
We really had to search the entire web, including tripwolf until we found out about Mama Shelter via a Next Web’s Blog post. They offer reasonably priced rooms with gorgeous interior and to the geeks adjusted room settings: iMac instead of TV, high speed Wifi, etc.
Have a look at those rooms and mouthwatering interiors by yourself and start booking your stay now.
With the internet being the main tool for finding information and people, are those big bulky directories on top of your fridge becoming irrelevant?
According to the Wall Street Journal, YellowPages may be facing extinction as more and more people shift to the internet to place ads and search for businesses and people.
With more people in the US with a social network profile than ever, there is an increase of people with an online web presence, making book directories seem out dated and irrelevant. Since the US launch of 123people.com, the site receives on average 200,000 unique visits per day from users conducting me and you searches, to find emails, weblinks and social network profiles of old-friends and family members.
As Lukas already blogged a few days ago we’ll be representing 123people at the LeWeb conference in Paris next month. We are now in the midst of the preperations for our LeWeb coverage in Paris and we will be blogging and vlogging live on multiple blogs and in multiple languages.
The video was our first try with our HD camera and unfortunately our sound and ambient settings were, well, let’s call it suboptimal, but we will improve our skills in term of video blogging until LeWeb…
Our friends and collegues over at tripwolf (an online travel guide) are giving away several FON wi-fi routers so you don’t have be offline anymore - even when you are travelling.
The idea of the game is simple: the more friends you invite to tripwolf, the higher are your chances of winning one of those routers. Furthermore might those points be used for further games and prizes - so start soon and you might be able to might really big stuff in the future via tripwolf.
There are already two lucky winners and besides that they really have some awesome travel photos in their flickr account - check them out.
As you might have already noticed the bold Badge on the right sidebar of this blog 123people is proud to be part of the LeWeb’s blogger network so we will be blogging LIVE from this amazing conference in Paris on December 9/10.
The LeWeb is organized by Entrepreneuer and Web Enthusiast Loic le Moir, founder of Seesmic, and within years became one of the most influential european Web and Tech Conferences. Not only the extraordinary fine list of Keynote speakers but also the list of Participants contribute to the quality of the conference.
Lukas, a 123people team member and a blogger himself, will be covering the entire conference for 123people and is going to watch out for what people are going to say about the emerging market of people search. What’s new, what’s next and who is to keep an eye on.
