Friends reunited using 123people search

October 29th, 2008 by admin

123people is a great resource for reconnecting with long lost friends, family and ex-band members.  Since the launch on Monday almost 3/4 million people have visited the site to find everyone they want to know.  The blogosphere has been buzzing about the functionalities of 123people and the comprehensive search results.

Samuel Dean from Web Worker Daily blog suggests using 123people if you’re in search of  lost colleagues or need to find someone for any reason, give it a try.

‘After a series of test searches for three writers I used to work with but had lost track of, I definitely find 123 People useful. It found concrete e-mail address probabilities and physical addresses for two of the three writers (and the third is a woman who I believe has a different last name than she used to, so not finding her is forgivable).

Blogger Rex Dixon used 123people to find lost band mates he had not seen in over 14 years and found their information in one simple search.

With 123People, not only do you get a string of endless links, but you get social network connections, YouTube connections, as well as e-mail addresses, article links, etc… The complete person search results you want. The most important thing here, is that you also get pictures. You are not just receiving back a spit result list of articles and links where it “might be” where the person you are searching for is located at online.

There yah go…..happy people finding

Multimedia people search directory hits the web

October 29th, 2008 by admin

Next generation people search tool, 123people (http://www.123people.com) hits the web with its US public beta launch. 123people is a high performance people search functionality that finds and identifies people’s information from publicly available sources across the web.

123people is also socially interactive, applying crowd wisdom to search results. Users can rate and add information to every single search result, giving it more relevance with details that are not yet found on the Internet, taking the quality of people search to the next level. An “Update Newsletter Service” provides users information about new search results on the Internet.

123people outperforms existing search sites by:

·  Using an innovative search function that finds peoples’ contact details, images, videos, web links, biographies, news, blogs, documents and social network profiles from hundreds of international and social media sources

·  Organizing the relevant information in a dynamic hub where users can find the most up-to-date information on anyone.

“We are out to change the way Web users search and discover people information,” says Russell Perry, CEO of 123people.com. “Some years ago people used the telephone book to find peoples’ information. But today it is not only about addresses and telephone numbers – it is about videos, photos, email-addresses, blogs and much more. 123people.com brings superior search results because our search is optimized, and gets better every day, because we take strong efforts to include locally relevant sources like white pages, Zoominfo and news outlets, such as CNN, NY Times, and WSJ as well as other web 2.0 offerings for the next generation of people search.“

 What makes 123people different?

The site is designed to fundamentally improve the quality of people search on the Web. In addition to aggregating people information from globally accessible databases and social networks on the Web. 123people.com also search country-specific Web sites, providing fast access comprehensive results.

Search results from major engines are often overwhelmingly buried in pages of unrelated results and can be frustratingly incomprehensive. Niche search sites give users a faster, more effective, and direct way of locating specific information.

123people Features:

· 123people aggregates people-related data

· User can tag search results and give them more relevance

· Includes popular social media profiles (e.g. Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn, Xing, Friendster, HiFive, FlickR, Bebo, Bloglines, Blogger, Zoominfo, LastFM,)

· Instant Messenger profiles and Microblogs, such as, AIM and twitter

· Tagclouds

· Biographies

· Phone numbers, addresses and emails

· News page results from CNN, NY Times, WSJ and USA today.

People Search a popular search term

October 22nd, 2008 by admin

With people search making up 30 percent of all searches, people search has become a popular category among internet users…with many users starting with a ‘me’ search…we have all done it, call it ego searches if you will, but you will be surprised by what is available on the internet about you.

Results from the big search engines bring about a lot of noise and information overload with much of which is irrelevant.  Niche sites like 123people provide more depth and less noise targeted search results in a vertical platform.

Over the past several weeks,  123people have seen a rising flow of traffic as people start discovering us and telling their friends, seeing the value of our comprehensive search results.

Type in ‘Barack Obama‘ you are greeted with images from popular social networks like; facebook, Myspace, Flickr, and google and wikipedia.   Want to follow Obama on twitter?  find all Obama related twitter accounts with 123people, aswell as blogs, weblinks and real-time news clippings from CNN, NYTimes and WSJ, all presented in a dynamic hub.
